Let's start with one of my favorite video bloopers from NCIS:

...and slide into House, not exactly a Blooper reel, but just a bit of his best moments of sarcasm:

Ah, you can't have a blof without having something about a celebrity or two on it, so without further adieu, I give you Celebs as kids:

Lethargic of the Mind

Yes, lazy, that is what it means.

And that is what I have been lately with this blog, lazy and I apologize.

I just can't seem to think of much interesting to say lately.

I will see what I can come up with, so I can start putting more back into this blog.

You can do it !!

I am very proud of my wife.

She is doing something incredibly hard right now and I know how bad it can get at times.

She is quitting smoking.

I believe she is worried she isn't doing so great if she slips and has a cig here and there, but she is trying and that is great.

I went through this, and though it may seem that I quit cold turkey, and yes I tried, I fell off that cold turkey wagon a few times before I was able to do it. I am very proud of her.

A long while ago, we both agreed to quit smoking, not only because we needed to, but the money crunch was terrible at eating up any 'extra' money we had. I hate to admit it, but I was very disappointed and a bit resentful when it was only myself that ended up quitting...and it has been a source of frustration with me for sometime.

Oh, I know it was not purposeful, but it was frustating for me none the less. To see her really trying to quit, makes me feel proud that she is trying again, and she is doing GREAT!! I will support her all through this - Hell I will break out pom poms if I have to.

I really think she can do it.

No matter what, I will support her....

She is doing great !!

The Drive to Work

Fun Fun.

Well, got out the door just in time to make it to work on a normal drive.

Too bad it wasn't a normal drive.....

I get on the road, already planning how I will go to bypass contruction on the freeway, so take Gratiot down to 696. Everything is going fine, till I hear on the radio traffic report that further up on 696 up near Coolidge is an accident and they have the entire freeway down to one lane....thrills.

So, traveling 696, doing about 75 - 80 MPH (they don't call 696 the Autobahn for nothing), and get five miles down 696 and they had the freeway closed down to two lanes doing repair on the under side of a bridge. Someone needs a swift kick in the pants to be closing down a major freeway to two lanes in the middle of rush hour traffic - normally they do that on the weekends.

Anyways, got slowed down because of that, cleared that irritating slow down and got back to doing 75 - 80 MPH, slowing occassionally as traffic came in from the offramps. Figuring that at this time I am getting close to where the accident is and I will take the offramp near work at 10 Mile road and bypass being stuck in traffic.

Wrong.

I get on the service drive, and plow straight into another contruction zone on 10 Mile road that seems to have traffic all in one lane, backed up for a couple of miles. So as soon as I made the next light (not a major intersection), I turned left and into a side street going through the residential areas and estimating how far up I needed to go, and then got on a side street heading to my work. It was a good work around, cause if I was stuck in that traffic jam for construction, I probably would have been 15 - 30 minutes late for work.....as it was, I was only two minutes late for work.

Pah.

Oh well, welcome to Michigan. Pot Holes, Mesquitoes, Rain, Snow, Cold, Construction, Lane Closures, Orange Barrels, and Michigan State Joke - MEN AT WORK !!

Life as it is....

Sorry for the long period of inactivity for those that actually come around and read my ramblings.

Sickness hit our family.

First to get hit were the kids, and then I got it, then the wife got it as I was clearing up.

Everyone is still hacking and coughing to a degree, but wife is the worst of us all right now, with infected sinuses.

Believe me, with her sinuses infected, ho boy, does she snore now. I mean, it's not bad if I am already asleep, but I woke up this morning and had a hard time getting back to sleep because of how bad her snore was. She is normally not like that, lightly snoring if anything, and me being the house rumbler for snoring, but because of her being sick, she was having a hard time breathing during sleep by the way it seeemed and the snores were loud because of that.

Hey, if she can put up with my snores, I am sure I can put up with hers during times of sickness. [chuckles]

Other than sickness, and medical bills, and co-pays, and medication bills...things got tight for awhile, and still are, but we are struggling through and making things work.

I finally got the front brakes on the van done not long ago. I took the wife to the store to go shopping and she heard the brakes, they were grinding so badly (metal to metal screeching) she said it was making her sick. It is good to be able to put brakes on and not hear them scream anymore. I still need the back ones done, but I believe I still have more time on them.

Drama Queen's Birthday is tommorrow, Nov. 2nd, and we will be trying to put together a decent birthday party with what we have. It is hard when your wallet is full of moths at the moment, but we do have enough to do some nice things to make it memorable.

I mailed off my mothers Birthday card also, since her birthday is also on Nov. 2nd. Unfortunately she will not be able to make it down to celebrate with Drama Queen, but hopefully she will call anad they can talk for a bit.

Work is still the same, still doing the 40 hrs a week, but trying to get overtime anytime I can so it helps with bills and such. Christmas is coming up and I volunteered to work that too.

So that is Life right now in a nutshell.

I will try and get back into blogging more often. I will make you a deal, you read more often, I will blog more often. Deal?

[chuckles]
